About

Join us for this special service of Choral Evensong, which today includes the world première of a new piece of choral music - 'The Everlasting Covenant' - written by the British composer Joanna Marsh.

It has been commissioned by the Cathedral to celebrate 150 years since the laying of its foundation stone in 1874, and to celebrate Creation-time.

The new piece features words from the poem 'Nature' by Emily Dickinson and a passage from the Book of Isaiah in the Old Testament of The Holy Bible.

All are welcome to come along for this historic event. No pre-booking is ever required for services.

Evensong is a living tradition of Episcopal Church, going back hundreds of years.  This reflective service of words and music, sung by the Cathedral Choir (made up of adults and children from the nearby St Mary's School), is a way to worship God, to quietly pray together, and to close the day.
