A long-running and popular series of lunchtime recitals in one of Edinburgh's most beautiful concert spaces. Today, flute-and-guitar Bruadar Duo perform Schumann, Bartok and Eddie McGuire.

This long-running and very popular series of lunchtime recitals features a wide variety of performers, playing and singing in one of Edinburgh's most beautiful concert spaces. These concerts are free by donation, and a perfect way to spend a lunchtime during the busy festival!

Biography

Kieran McCrossan is a classical guitarist originally from Kirkcaldy, Fife now based in Edinburgh. McCrossan recently completed his BMus(Hons) at Edinburgh Napier University in 2023 where he studied with Scottish virtuoso classical guitarist and composer, Simon Thacker. McCrossan will begin further studies as part of the Masters programme at Edinburgh Napier University this September.

Lynn Fraser is a flautist and music teacher based in North Lanarkshire. As a freelance musician, Fraser has worked for several Scottish Arts organisations, including Scottish Opera Education Department, National Youth Choir of Scotland, Youth Music Initiative and the UK Theatre School. Fraser studied music in Glasgow, with Rosemary Elliot and Sheena Gordon. Recent masterclasses have been with Ruth Morley, Ian Clarke and Wissam Boustany.

As Bruadar Duo, McCrossan and Fraser have toured across Scotland playing in some of the most beautiful venues in the country. Whilst enjoying the core repertoire, the duo have a major interest in contemporary music and are committed to playing and promoting the work of Scottish composers. This season's programme will see premieres of compositions and arrangements by Edward McGuire, Brandon Walker and the duo themselves.
