Biography
Kosonen Ranieri Duo was formed in 2021, by pianist Mianoora Kosonen and violist Arianna Ranieri, upon their graduation from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. The duo performs a wide range of chamber music, art songs, folk and traditional music. KRD also often performs in concerts hosted by Women in Chamber Music, an ensemble of which the duo members are co-founders. The duo hosts their own concerts, perform in prestigious chamber music series across Scotland, and record repertoire.
KRD has also performed in several concert tours together as a part of the WICM ensemble, and were invited to perform duo pieces alongside WICM, for Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, at the annual gathering of Scotland's Churches Trust in 2022. The musicians are also highly trained and experienced music educators and instructors, with a passion for healthy practice, well-rounded teaching, and making music accessible to all.
