recital applications

Thanks for your interest in our summer recital series. This is wonderful opportunity to play in a superb venue in Edinburgh during the busiest time of the year. Applications are open until the end of March; after that, we will review and let applicants our decisions.

Personal details

Please enter the details of the person who will be the main contact for the recitals.

Performer details

Either individually (for solos or duos), or the name of your group. This is how you will be credited on all programmes and publicity.

Your instrument or group, as you would like to be described in the programme and publicity. E.g. piano/soprano and guitar/choir/cello ensemble,

If you are applying as part of a small chamber group, please include the names of individuals members. If you are applying as a larger group, please include names of e.g. conductor/accompanist.

Please include an artist biography - one per recital (max. 200 words), or, for small chamber groups (e.g. duos and trios), one per performer (max. 300 words total).

Proposed programme

This should be listed in the following form, e.g.:


Cello sonata no. 2 (Allegro assai vivace, Allegretto scherzando, Adagio, Molto allegro e vivace), Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847)

Cello Sonata in A major (Allegretto ben moderato, Allegro, Ben moderato: Recitativo-Fantasia, Allegretto poco mosso), César Franck (1822-1890), arr. Delsart

Programmes should be between 40 and 50 mins long. 50 mins is an absolute maximum, including any introducing pieces.

Recital dates

We have lunchtime recitals available on: 1st-2nd, 4th-9th, 11th-16th, 18th-19th, 21st-23rd, 25th-30th August inclusive. Recitals begin at 1pm, and finish by 1:50pm. The Cathedral is available for rehearsal on the morning of the recital (or occasionally the afternoon of the day before).

Please list the dates you are available to perform - or, if you are flexible, the dates you cannot perform. The more flexible you can be, the more likely we can fit you in.
